ESF THRILLS THE AUDIENCE WITH OZ
"I have never
seen such an amazing production of The Wizard of Oz!”, “The
acting talent and production values are amazing! ”, ”The
elaborate sets and effects were excellent!”. These were some
of the comments from the audience who thoroughly enjoyed The
English School Fahaheel Kuwait Drama Department’s 40th
Anniversary extravaganza “The Wizard of Oz”.
Over 70 students formed the impressive and talented cast of
“The Wizard of Oz” at ESF. The main cast included Anna
Neitzer (Dorothy), Ben Thompson (the Wizard), Clarissa Trott
(the scarecrow), Nimra Noor (the cowardly Lion), Sabina
Ahmed (Tin Woodman), Theresa Daoud (the Wicked witch), Nawal
Zubeiri
(the good witch), Rianne Thompson (Aunt Em), Adam Bu Hamdan
(Uncle Henry) and lets not forget TOTO the dog who played
himself!
Other cast members played apple trees, Munchkins, Guards, Farm hands, Jitterbugs, Multi-ethnic dancers, Ballerinas,
the mayor, the clown and Flying skeletons’. Also taking part
in the production was the ESF modern Band, the ESF Brass
Band and both the Junior and Senior Choirs.
The play was directed by Mrs Batchelor and she was supported
by a drama team comprising many members of staff, the Music
Department and many parents who very kindly put in many
hours of their time to make this production possible. A big
thank you also goes out to the management of the school for
supporting this production and to all staff for their
cooperation.
